Did I say something wrong? Please help me figure this situation out..?

He does like you obviously, but he is battling with his conscience. He's probably putting a little distance between you so he can think clearly. I dated a senior in high school when I was a freshman. One drawback was that he wanted to go farther than I was comfortable with, and I think his friends and family gave him a hard time about dating someone so much younger. I found later that I had a lot more in common dating someone closer to my own age, even though at the time I thought I was mature enough to date someone older. Don't hold it against him if he decides to just be friends for now-he's trying to do the right thing for both of you.
