My fifteen year old granddaughter need jaw surgery.?

I would definitely get a second opinion. Perhaps that of an orthodonist. If the income is low enough--you can apply for finiancial aid--for the hospital bill--and possibly not have to pay anything to the hospital. Also--talk to your surgeon--lots of times they lower their rate for those with no insurance. (I have no insurance) I have never heard of this happening though. Don't become too worried though--if the jaw does lock--she can still live on Ensure--liquid substance--and get fluids in--for a while. Just don't panic. Good luck
